Braces

Both Haleigh and Dalley have their braces off. See how happy they are.

End of the School Year 2011

Chandler received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence and Quality Counts award. Brenen received a PE award along with some other awards that got lost. Trey received an award for Academic Excellence, Paws of Pride for trying to raise money for the school during these tough economic times. Mrs. Douglass (the principal) gave him the award and a teddy bear (Trey named Steve) as a thank you for being so caring and thoughtful. I am so proud of my boys this year.

Field Day

Field day is a lot of fun. Brenen just loves to eat and compete.
For Trey field day is a time to play and be with his friends.
Kaison and Superman see field day as a time to get some ice cream and play on the play ground.

And for Chandler its an opportunity to skip school.

Easter 2011

Don’t you just love Easter time. We are coming out of winter into a time where the grass gets greener, the sky is bluer, and the sun is shining more. It is the perfect time of year to remember the death and resurrection of the Savior as we come out of Winter into Spring. What a great blessing and gift we have been given from our big brother and Savior, Jesus Christ. We celebrated by going to church and having John and Kathy over with their kids. Aubree was home from college and the kids were out for spring break. It was a nice relaxing week. Since we got back so late from picking up Aubree from school, we had our Easter egg hunt for Family Home Evening. It lasted 45 minutes because the big girls hid the eggs so well. Superman was a little upset anytime someone found an egg. I think he thought he was the only one who should find them. This picture of him getting an egg under the garden hose bucket was taken because he found it all by himself. He was good at looking for eggs. It was a lot of fun.

Brenens Baseball Season

Brenen

is playing baseball for the Dodgers. He plays pitcher and 3rd base. He loves the game and is a strike out pitcher. He is always confident unless his Uncle Rod is watching and then he gets real nervous because he is Bo's dad. Brenen idolized Bo and wants to be just like him. Their team has only lost two games this season. They took second in the league. GO DODGERS!! Brenen was invited to try out for the all star team.

Jerry Lewis (not Jerry Lewis the comedian)

In February of this year Chads grandma Honey passed away. She was a very kind and sweet woman. Our family decided to go to the funeral. When we got there we met Chads biological father, Jerry Lewis. He had never met myself (Kayleen) and the kids. It was a good experience for us all. We also saw Chads half brother and sister Kacey and Kelly Lewis.

Junior

Mom loves the TV show "Big Cat Week". Its show about cats it the wild doing what they do best, HUNT. Kaison began watching it with his Mom. There was an episode where a cub named Junior was trampled by buffalo. The buffalo had stepped on the back legs of Junior paralyzing him. He tried to stay with his pride but was unable to do so because of the loss of his legs. Ultimately he died. It was a very sad show. Kaison started to cry because the pride left Junior and did not stay with him. So, for Christmas Santa brought him two Juniors to take care of. Kaison was so excited. (Kaison kept reenacting Juniors accident and then Kaison coming to the rescue and taking care of him)

2010 in a nutshell

It has been a great year.

Chad was promoted to SWAT. He loves working there. It is different than what he has been doing in law enforcement, and he has learned a lot. His side business has done well. He had to take some time off while he was in SWAT school. He serves on the High Council in our stake and keeps busy.

Kayleen is enjoying being a mom. It gets a little crazy but it is fun. She serves on the Superintendent of Schools PAC team for the elementary school. She serves as second counselor in the Young Women program in her ward.

Aubree (not pictured) is attending her first semester at BYU. She wants to earn an honors degree from there. She has learned it is not easy being away from home. She has grown so much in the last few months. We love and miss her.

Haleigh is on the dance team at her high school and she is now driving. She is anxious to go get mom anything she wants. She has started dating and has loved it. Haleigh is a good girl and is a great example to others on her dance team.

Dalley is on her high school cross country team. She was just cast in her high school play "Grease" she is a pink lady. Pretty good for a freshman. Dalley is the most compassionate girl. Her mom and dad get told that all the time by teachers and leaders.

Chandler is now a deacon. He has started passing the sacrament and feels very responsible now that he holds the priesthood. He is such a sweet boy.

Brenen was on his schools flag football team. They were undefeated when they went into the playoffs and then lost. He is very protective of his mom and does not seem to like it when she wants to go somewhere alone.

Trey is a Jivin Jumper at school. It is a jump roping team. Dad and Mom went to watch him perform. He loves doing it. Trey has such a fun personality.

Kaison LOVES Spiderman. He had a Spiderman party for his 5th birthday. He is a very polite boy. He always says "yes, ma'am", "please", "excuse me"... We love how polite he is.

Superman is into everything. We have decided that means he will be very smart. He is 2. Need we say more?

It is a great time to be a Lyman. We pray it always will be. We love you all and look forward to a great 2011!

For the past several weeks I have been looking on Craigs list, garage sales, and furniture stores for reasonably priced book shelves. I have not found what I have wanted. On Thanksgiving we were discussing this with John and Kathy. Kathy mentioned that I should build some shelves. I figured I have build a pantry and put shelves up in the garage why not a bookcase. So I drew up plans on what I needed and I am fortunate enough to have John and Kathy so close. John came and cut all my wood and put it all together. Then I painted it and here is the final result. All for around $200.00. THANK YOU Kathy for getting me to do this and for using John to help me :)

Our Little Deacon

Chandler turned 12. This is a big year for him. He is now a Deacon. It is weird to think that he is that old all ready. He is such a sweet boy and tries to always do what he is supposed to do. He makes us proud. Chandler had his best friend over for the day, had pizza for dinner, and played his new video game. I would say he had a very fun birthday.

Halloween was so much fun. Since it landed on a Sunday our ward had a trunk or treat so that the kids could dress up and get candy. Superman fell asleep just as everything was starting. When he woke he was surpized to see his bucket was filled with candy.

Homecoming 2010

Haleigh went to Homecoming this year with Zach Wright. They doubled with her friend Lauren and Logan. They had a ton of fun. Poor Haleigh had a competition all day and she had only one hour to get ready. She pulled it together nicely.

Dalley and Cross Country

Dalley ran cross country this year in school. She learned a lot. She had pain, she was tired, there was some discouragement with her times, but never at anytime did she give up. Dalley loved every minute. Easy? NO! Worth it? Absolutely!

Its official. I am a parent of a college student. This is Aubree coming down the stairs from her apartment.

At first it was hard to have her gone. She didnt call, write, text... but then I realized we raise them to go out on their own and become independant from Mom and Dad. I am so proud of her and all she is doing.

She has already been in a play and has auditioned for others. She is working, socalizing, and most of all studying. They had stake conference and the speakers were Jeffery R Holland, Boyd K Packer, Julie S Beck and a member of the 70's. (I want to go back to college)

SUPERMAN?????

I am not sure if I could call my almost 2 yr old Super. I am trying to think positively about the destruction he causes on a daily basis. This picture is just a sample of the types of things he does. Let me list a few of the things that... I had to have a time out for...

destroyed 8+ tubes of lipstick or gloss, emptied out a vaseline jar. opened 5 soy milks and poured them out (luckily we were able to save some), ate several packages of gum that now can be found in my carpet, took 30 melatonin (sleeping) pills. (luckily poison control told me they were not lethal so I enjoyed a good nights rest). Ate Annies dog food. tracked mud all over the house. We had to have the carpets cleaned... personally, I think it is interesting that he even found mud in Las Vegas in August. Ate all of the cookies in the pantry. Wiped poo all over the house... Keep in mind I have not even addressed the picture above which has permanently stained my carpet. Child proof capped cough syrup.

I love this little boy but I hope he out grows his inquisitive side.

4th of July

Having the 4th of July on a Sunday was great. We talked to the kids about how blessed we were to live in a country that allowed us to worship our Father in Heaven. We had Family over and enjoyed visiting and being together. Our tradition of having homemade ice cream did not work so we had milkshakes instead.
