Basketball Season
Basketball season has been off to a great start for both Chandler and Kaison. Chandler is learning a lot and loves his team. Kaison is learning a lot as well, but has a long way to go since he hasn't really played much. Let me share a little story about Kaison. He has been trying very hard to shoot free throws from the free throw line. He hasn't been able to yet. He works hard and is determined to make his free throws. Last week the coach had the boys practice. One by one they shot, and if they missed the whole team had to run. The coach asked Kaison to shoot. His teammates gasped and sighed because they knew Kaison hadn't made any. Kaison was unaware of their disappointment and walked up to the free throw line with great confidence. He threw the ball with all his might. the ball hit the front of the rim and net, but did not go in. Kaison turned to Mom and began to celebrate his shot because it was so close to going in. After practice he excitedly said "Mom, did you see my shot? It almost went in."
Mom "Yes, good job"
Kaison "I wonder how high the NBA baskets are?"
Mom "They are the same height you just shot on."
Kaison, "Really?"
Mom "Yes"
Kaison "Where do they have to stand to throw it?"
Mom "The same place you were standing, Your court is the same size as an NBA court."
Kaison sat back with the most excited look on his face and said "Mom, I am almost as good as an NBA player. I cant believe it!"
You have to love his confidence. What a great story and lesson learned.

Summer Fun
The summer started with a trip to see Aubree perform in the play “The Selfish Giant”. She was amazing.
The following week was basketball camp for Chandler, followed by Brenen being placed on the Mustang baseball team. Brenen and Chandler both did great.
Superman started swim lessons and has really improved. We think he will be swimming by next summer.
The kids loved the 4th of July fireworks. We saw more fireworks than we ever had before.
Then it was off to pick up Dalley from school. Before heading home we decided to go to Yellowstone. We then traveled through Utah watching the 24th of July celebrations and a trip to Lagoon.
We ended our summer of fun with Treys birthday and the boys helping mom can fruit. It was a productive summer.

Sports season coming to an end
The sports season is finally coming to an end. Chandlers volleyball team did real well. Most of these boys had never played before and they all came together as a team and worked hard. Brenens baseball season was a little rough. He wasn't playing as well as he normally does. After a visit to the eye doctor we found the problem. He cant see that well. He is now going to play for the high school legions team. Kaison had fun in basketball. However, teaching him that if he tickles the other team while their arms are up is considered a foul was not easy. Its hard for him to resist but I think he is doing better. Now if we could just get him to watch the ball.

Come listen to the Prophet speak
Our family attended conference in the conference center for the first time. What an amazing experience. Later that day, the boys went to priesthood session while the women shopped.
