Oh what do you do in the Summertime.
OH WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE SUMMERTIME........
We as a family made a bucketlist of things we want to do or try this summer. Rules were that it needed to be something new, inexpensive, and fun.
As a family we will be going to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house, Family reunion, Boys will go with Dad to football camp, the girls will be going with Mom to Arizona to see "Wicked".
Chad...He would love to see a live session in the SLC Temple.
Kayleen...I want to try Sushi, I have been told I would love it if I went to a good restaurant.
Aubree..."Wicked" She is excited to see this musical this summer.
Haleigh...She wants to see an old black and white movie. One that is well known. If you have any suggestions let her know.
Dalley...She wants to go to Lake Mead. We live so close and yet have never taken her there.
Chandler...He has done it all. And feels complete.
Brenen...Ride a 4 wheeler.
Trey...Swim at YMCA. He wants to try out the big water slides.
Kaison...Wants to see Night at the Museum II. Easy to please.
Superman...wants to learn to sit up. This is more moms bucket list for the baby.
If you would like to share some of the things you are doing this summer or share ideas on things to do let us know.

Draper Temple
This last month Aubree and I went to the Draper temple open house with the laurel class. The morning that we went there it was snowing so when you drove up to the temple and saw it, it looked like a black and white picture. It is a beautiful temple. When we got the young women inside the look on their faces is unforgettable as they walked from room to room. They had so many questions and they were in awe of everything they looked at and you could tell they were trying to take it all in and remember it. As we were leaving the girls commented on the fact that they wanted to be married there. The spirit was so strong. I am so grateful that we were able to take these girls there. I hope they will not forget this experience and keep their desire to go to the temple.

All of the things with bubble soap on them, including carpet. As you know it is not easy to clean off bubble soap. We are so bubbled out, that the following things are outlawed in my home. No more bubble gum, bubble letters, or bubble baths. I dont even want to see someone who is bubbly for the rest of the day. So much for my few minutes of relaxation.
I hope tomorrow is a better day.

10. Mom asking Aubree to sing "Oh how lovely was the morning" when she gave the painting of the sacred grove to Mom for Christmas.
9. Ornaments were not broken by balls being thrown into the tree.
8. Kids go to bed at 3:00PM on Christmas Eve so that Santa can come.
7. No sales calls on Christmas.
6. Christmas music on cable 24/7.
5. Santa claus has 8 items to eat on Christmas eve because all of the kids want to leave something. Even the teenagers who thought it was funny that Santa would need to eat all of it.
4. Raindeer food that Brenen wanted to spread all over the patio. When Santa needed to get rid of the raindeer food it was cold and raining so sweeping away the evidence was a long painstaking task.
3. All the plates of goodies that are left by friends. It becomes dinner. (No cooking for mom) Kids have had cookies, candy, cake, and hot chocolate for dinner the last couple of weeks.
2. Making gifts for friends and having kids deliver them in their PJ shorts, t-shirts, and no shoes when it is 30 degrees outside. (bad mom)
1. Kids go to bed at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve so that Santa can come. (Did I already say that? Well it is a good one)
But the real reason we love Christmas is being reminded of the Saviors birth. How grateful we are for his life and sacrifice he made for us. We love him and love to celebrate the great gifts he has given us.
